Xin chào from Vietnam!

It's the Chinese National Holiday (the week of October 1st) so that means a week off from classes. This year we decided that in order to avoid the insanely crowded Chinese we would skip the country entirely. The Rices, Dave, Kim and I are all in northern Vietnam for this week. I'm enjoying the beautiful mountains and cooler weather. This morning Kim and I tried the Vietnamese coffee...complete with the sweet and condensed milk they add here. It's fun to see all the colorful (and super skinny!) buildings and delicious bakeries thanks to the former French influences. So far I've only learned, "hello, thanks and goodbye." I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have but I'll will definitely post pictures when I get back to China. Cheers!
